LA PHIL: EDIBLE ART TABLESCAPE
The Lost Garden of Eve: A Surrealist Edible Art Installation for the LA Philharmonic
Commissioned by the LA Philharmonic and inspired by Salvador Dalí’s iconic surrealist dinner parties, The Lost Garden of Eve reimagined the tablescape as a lush, feminine, and edible dreamscape. Rather than centering the usual male figures of Surrealism, Parisa Parnian redirected the narrative—drawing inspiration from the overlooked women of the movement whose creative power shaped its core.
Part installation, part culinary curiosity, this sensory-rich experience merged food, symbolism, and surreal found object elements to create a space of decadent reawakening. Each detail—edible or ornamental—was designed to evoke myth, sensuality, memory, and the reclamation of feminine creative force.
